No injuries were reported this morning as a car caught fire at the Sheetz near Homer City.
Indiana County 911 initally dispatched Homer City fire fighters and the state police at 9:17 AM, with Coral-Graceton and Black Lick fire departments dispatched three minutes later. Homer City Assistant Fire Chief Joe Izzei, Jr. said that a four-door sedan caught fire in the parking lot of the Sheetz while the driver was in the store making a purchase. When the driver came back out, he saw smoke coming from the front end of the vehicle. By the time firefighters arrived, the car was fully involved.
The car was parked away from the store and the gas pumps, so there was no danger. The car was destroyed, but no other damage was reported.
