Police reports include an accidental shooting involving a hunter and another accidental shooting, as well as a structure fire and a flue fire.
A hunter was accidentally shot in the abdomen Saturday afternoon in Banks Township, in norther Indiana County. The male was extricated from the scene near Fire Tower Road with the assistance of Glen Campbell and Big Run firefighters, and then flown from there by medical helicopter. The victim has not been publicly identified. The State Game Commission is investigating.
State police are investigating an accidental shooting in West Mahoning Township on Friday afternoon. It happened at a location along Neal Flat Road. Police do not detail the circumstances of the shooting. They do identify the “subject,” a 50-year-old Punxsutawney man, but do not say whether he was the victim or was involved in some other way.
Indiana firefighters were summoned twice yesterday, to a report of smoke in the structure along South 6th Street at 2:35 in the afternoon, and to a flue fire along Martin Road in White Township at 7:50 PM.
