The plight of homeless veterans will be demonstrated this weekend as a sleep-out will be held this weekend at the Wal-Mart in White Township.
Members of Team RWB, along with IUP’s ROTC and the PTX Military fraternity, and the Military Philanthropy Organization will camp out in sleeping bags and cardboard boxes starting at 8:00 AM this morning and ending at 8:00 AM Sunday morning in front of the Wal-Mart, surviving off food provided by the community. The aim of this is to show how homeless veterans are forced to live.
Kevin Lazor, one of the event’s organizers and participants said they will collect financial donations along with non-perishible food, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
All donations will go to the Veterans Parsonage at the Church of the Bretheren in Indiana, PA.
