¬¬¬Edward George Yoschak, 86, of Josephine, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at his residence, where he was surrounded by the love and support of his family. The youngest son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Yoschak (Marusek), he was born on September 10, 1930.
Ed was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption, Coral, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was a former parishioner of St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe, and there too he served as a Eucharistic minister. Ed saw active duty in the Army during the Korean War and was wounded in battle. Following his stint in the military, Ed worked for the US Postal Service in Greensburg until retirement. He had several passions, including woodworking, entertaining his grandchildren, and gardening.
In addition to his wife of nearly 61 years, Rose Marie, Ed is survived by four daughters—Mary Anne Jacobs and husband Jeff, of Jacksonville, Fl.; Peggy Hough and husband Bruce, of Pittsburgh; Jane Autry and husband Tim, of Atlanta; and Patricia Lozaw, of Greensburg. Ed is also survived by his son Edward, of Blairsville, as well as nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Marcella; his grandson Andrew; his brothers—Mike, Steve, and Andy; and his sisters— Anne, Mary, and Liz.
