Debra Elaine Douglass, 73, Indiana, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with MSA/Parkinson’s disease.
The daughter of Francis “Archie” and Mary Jane (Larson) George, she was born October 21, 1944 in Rayne Township, Pa.
Debbie was raised in the Grove Chapel Lutheran Church which she attended for seventeen years. She met the Lord at First Assembly of God where she attended for thirty five years and was very active in children ministries and later started the senior group named “Golden Keenagers of the First Assembly”.
Debbie was finally led to Grace United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen Minister and enjoyed the church family.
Debbie’s interests included reading, traveling, the beach, and going on cruises and camping. Her children and grandchildren were the love and sunshine of her life.
Fondly known to those she loved as “Mema”, she is survived by her children, Steven George (Jackie) Douglass, Indiana and Tina Michelle (David) Busovicki, Clymer; grandchildren, Lyndzey Elayne and Zackary David Busovicki; a brother, Allen F. (Hazel) George, Anchorage, AK, and a sister, Barbara Louise (Stanley) Forrester, Oakridge, TN; and Charlie, Debbie’s pet cat.
Preceding Debbie in death were her parents; former husband, George Douglass; and son-in-law, David Busovicki.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, 4 pm, in the Lefdahl Chapel with Rev. Robert Santos, officiating. After the service, visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm in the Lefdahl Funeral Home.
