Criminal Call is scheduled today for several dozen defendants with active cases in Indiana County Court, and there is also a Plea Court proceeding scheduled.
In September, 33-year-old Shannon Dobson of Rossiter pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver. Last month she withdrew that plea and today she is scheduled to plead to that charge plus possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and of drug paraphernalia.
Dobson was one of three suspects arrested last April in a raid on a home in Rossiter, where police found 166 stamp bags of heroin, about three grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Co-defendant Elyse Zak of Indiana pleaded guilty to a single count of possession and was sentenced to probation. The third defendant, Terrance Northington of Braddock, Allegheny County, is still awaiting trial.
YINGLING
One of the Criminal Call cases listed for today is that of David Yingling, the Arcadia man accused of shooting to death his roommate last May at their home in Montgomery Township. The 62-year-old admits he shot 50-year-old Elwood Skilling, claiming he did it because Skilling was bullying Yingling’s mentally disabled younger brother. He left the body in its bed because he said he didn’t know what to do with it, and that’s where police found it four days later.
While’s Yingling’s case is on the Criminal Call list today, he is scheduled for Plea Court next Friday.
