With winter finally taking a firm hold on the Indiana area, cold temperatures are coming right with it, along with the wind chills.
Yesterday, the wind made the temperature feel like it was -4, and today, windchills could go as low as -9. Wind Chill is generally defined as a perceived decrease in air temperature when the air flow hits exposed skin. Usually the stronger the wind, the colder it gets.
Wind chill will make your body lose heat, so the best advice when a very low wind chill is reported is to bundle up, and be sure to cover as much of your body as possible to avoid frostbite and hypothermia.
