At Rustic Lodge last night, the White Township Planning Commission discussed the preliminary and final site plans for the Ben Franklin School.
The discussion from some members of the public focused on safety and flood plain concerns. Tom Harley had a brief presentation on some traffic and safety issues, which included potential traffic snarls on Ben Franklin Road and problems with where students would board the bus, as students would have to cross a section of the proposed bus parking lot to get to the bus, and he believes that poses a hazard to children.
Another presentation was from Jason Leeper who had problems with the building being so close to the flood plain. He felt that because the buildings were too low in the flood plain area, water could come in to the school.
The site plan was tabled for further discussion in February.
