State police say two women are facing retail theft charges for a December shoplifting incident at the Burrell Township Walmart. Police say a 20-year-old woman from Blairsville and a 28-year-old woman from Indiana stole more than $112 worth of merchandise on December 1st. Neither of the accused have been publicly identified.

A burglar stole seven costume rings from a home along Wolfe Road in Rayne Township sometime between December 29th and January 2nd. The owner is a 51-year-old woman from Indiana. Police say there were no signs of forced entry.

Indiana Borough police report that an Indiana man is charged with simple assault and harassment for a domestic violence episode last evening in the 1400 block of Philadelphia Street. 36-year-old Christopher Slater was taken into custody and placed in the Indiana County Jail to await a preliminary arraignment before District Judge George Thachik.
