An Indiana Man is facing theft by deception charges after State Police say he tried to pull off a scheme at the White Township Walmart store last night.
Police say 33-year-old Joshua Lee Helman took an old receipt – dated January 4th – to the store and took the items listed on the receipt from the shelves to the service desk, where he obtained a cash refund. Walmart’s theft department contacted police and Helman was arrested in the parking lot of the nearby GetGo gas station.

State Police report a crash and DUI on 422 West in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County around 1:15 this morning.
An unnamed 38-year-old female from Worthington was traveling across the Graff Bridge on 422 West when she struck the jersey barrier on then left shoulder and then struck the guide rail on the right shoulder of the roadway. She was taken into custody for driving under the influence, charges pending lab results.

An Allegheny County man was taken into custody on January 2nd after a traffic stop along Route 22 in West Wheatfield Township.
State Police say 47-year-old Shawn Colbert was going 75 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone near Jesse Penrose Road, and he also had a brake light out when he was pulled over. Colbert gave permission to search the vehicle and police found a small plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine. Charges are pending.

Between November 18th and December 22nd, someone attempted to open credit card accounts in the name of a Cherryhill Township woman using her Social Security number.

Indiana Borough police report vandalism to a car parked in the 700 block of South Street.
The owner reported that someone broke off the side mirror of his car. It happened between 8 o’clock Friday night and 9:30 yesterday morning.
