The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board will hold their monthly meeting tonight, and will look to approve a contract with a union representing custodial staff.
On the agenda tonight will be a motion to ratify an agreement between the district and the SEIU local 32BJ Custodians. Financial terms of the deal are not immediately available, but we know the agreement would be retroactive to September 1st, 2016 and would remain in effect until August 31, 2019.
The board will address the issue of the business manager vacancy. Last month, the board voted to hire Ryan Kirsch as the district’s business manager, but tonight the board will have a motion to rescind Kirsch’s hiring, and to hire Gary A. Zuchelli instead. Kirsch was hired a few months after Eric Kocsis resigned his position.
The meeting will also have a new start time. The board will now hold their meetings starting at 7:30. The time change comes from the fact that the board would announce their meeting time at 7:00 but would routinely start late due to ongoing business taking place in executive session prior to the meeting. The meeting will be held at the Saltsburg Middle/High School Cafeteria.
