Protests are taking place today in Washington DC concerning women’s rights with a march in our nation’s capital. Marches are also going on at a local level across the country, including in Indiana.
The march in Indiana Saturday morning was one of over 600 “sister marches” in connection with the Women’s March on Washington. The march’s official website say the past election cycle has insulted and demonized women and those of differing faiths, beliefs and lifestyles.
Pat Heilman said the mantra of the group is one taken from Hilary Clinton, who recently ran against Donald Trump for the presidency, who said in 1995 that “Women’s Rights are Human Rights”.
While the message of the March is one for Women’s Rights, Kevin Freeberg said he was marching in honor of his wife and daughter, showing his support for women’s rights.
Heather Powers said that this was a peaceful way to get their message out.
Over 100 people took part in Saturday’s march in Indiana.
