An Indiana-based attorney has announced he will seek election to the Clymer Magisterial District Court.
Christopher Welch has announced his candidacy for the seat of District Judge George Thachick, who will retire at the end of his term in December. Welch is a partner of the law firm of Budash and Welch and is a graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. Welch has also served as solicitor for several municipalities in the Northern Indiana County area, where he is from. He has experience in civil and criminal trials, and practices in matters of family law, personal injury, criminal defense, small business development and general civil litigation.
The Clymer magisterial district court serves most of the northern part of the county, along with portions of White, Washington, Rayne, and Cherryhill Township. Welch is the second person to announce his candidacy for the position. Adam Lightcap of Green Township, has also announced his candidacy. Both Welch and Lightcap will cross-file for the primary election.
