State police say three people were injured in a crash in Brush Valley Township. The crash happened Friday at 11:23 AM on Route 56 near Claghorn Road. Kimberly Crosco of Punxsutawney was driving West on Route 56 when she lost control of her truck and crossed the center line. The truck hit a car as the car was coming in the opposite lane. The snow may have played a factor in the crash. Both vehicles required towing. Crosco along with the other driver, Mark Gunter of Seward and his passenger Melinda LaRock, had unknown injuries and Crosco was taken to IRMC, while Gunter and LaRock were taken to Conemaugh Memorial for treatment .
State Police are investigating a hit-and-run on Route 286 in Young Township. An truck driven by an unidentified driver was going West on 286 and nearing the intersection with Mountain View Lane , while a car driven by Cassandra Rushnok of Punxsutawney was going East. That’s when a yellow oxygen tank fell out of the truck bed, bounced off the pavement and went into the Eastbound lane. Rushnock could not avoid the collision and struck the oxygen cylander. Rushnock went another ten miles before turning around and going back to the scene of the crash, but by then the truck fled the scene. No one was injured.
No one was injured in a crash in East Wheatfield Township on Friday morning. State police say Lindsey Hessom of Leechburg was going north on Route 403 when she lost control on the slippery road while going through a curve. Her car went into the southbound lane and hit a truck driven by James Zalucki of Salix.
