A Ligonier woman was killed yesterday in a single-vehicle crash on Route 217 near Chestnut Ridge Road in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
State police say 33-year-old Kelly Anne Helman lost control of her car while rounding a curve, hitting a tree and then another tree seventy feet further on. Police say she was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene from apparent blunt force trauma.
The accident occurred shortly after 5 PM.
