Motions hearings are scheduled in several cases in Indiana County Court today.
36-year-old Henry Lewis King of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County has filed a motion to suppress evidence in a drug case. King has been in the Indiana County Jail since his arrest last August, when state police made a traffic stop at the Route 422/286 interchange in Whiter Township. Two other men were in the vehicle and both remain in custody awaiting court action. Police found fourteen grams of heroin and a package of unused stamp bags in the car. King pleaded guilty in two 2011 drug cases and served time for possession with intent to deliver, and simple possession.
34-year-old Kareem Middlebrook of Arnold was also arrested during that traffic stop. He, too, ahs filed a motion to suppress evidence and will also have a motions hearing today. Both men are scheduled for Criminal Call next month.
24-year-old Richard Ernest Pyle of Shelocta has filed a motion to suppress evidence in a DUI case in which he is charged with 16 offenses, including fleeing or eluding police and recklessly endangering another person. Indiana Borough police attempted to pull over Pyle on July 11th in the 400 block of Chestnut Street. He did eventually stop, but tried to flee on foot. Police said at the time that he was under the influence of both heroin and alcohol, and he had heroin and paraphernalia on him. He’s scheduled for plea and sentencing later this month, but that could be affected by his motions hearing today.
