The Center Township Supervisors met last night and the Bethel Church Road Bridge Project was the main topic of discussion.
Supervisor John Bertolino said the initial work started on the project last week with core drilling being performed. Bertolino said that the project will take 4-5 months to perform. That news came after meetings with the road crews and with PennDOT.
Bertolino said the bids for the project will go out in two different phases: phase one will be for the two bridges in the scope of the project, while phase two will be a build-out on the road from the bridge approach to Route 286 due to tractor-trailer traffic. Bids will go out in March.
In other business, the Supervisors passed a proclamation designating the month of April as PA 811 Safe Digging Month.
