State Representative Chris Dush yesterday announced more than $266,000 in state funding for 22 fire and ambulance providers in his 66th District. That includes five municipalities in Indiana County.
The largest amount will be awarded to the Plumville fire department, which will receive $13,130. The Cherry Tree and Rossiter fire Company will each get $12,101. Marion Center and Commodore firefighters will each receive $11,844.
The funding comes from the proceeds of slot machine gambling and may be used for construction or renovations of facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
Citizens Ambulance Service is not on the recipient list.
