Downtown Indiana will host a winter version of their popular “taste and tour” event today with a Winter Warm Up going on today.
The Winter Warm Up is being put on by Downtown Indiana as a replacement for the “Fire and Ice Festival” that took place over the last few years. One element of the fire and ice festival has remained, and that is the family-friendly activities at IRMC Park. Those are free and open to the public from Noon to Four today. Starting at 1:00 will be a food sampling tour of Downtown Indiana with 10 businesses taking part. They include the Artist’s Hand Gallery, Six Hand Bakery, Best Way Pizza, The Coney, Fox’s Pizza, Insomnia Cookies, Pita Pit, Spaghetti Benders, Subway, and Twisted Jimmy’s.
Ticket holders will have the chance to sample the best winter foods at all of those locations, and awards will be presented at 4:00 today for the Best Soup or Chili, Best Hot Appetizer, Dessert or Beverage, and best pizza, wings or sandwich.
Tickets will be available at IRMC park for $10 for adults. Kids 10 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. The ticket purchase includes an entry into a drawing for two tickets to the 2017 NHL Stadium Series game at Heinz Field between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers February 25th.
