Indiana Borough’s Streetscape project has completed all of its major phases, and now some of the smaller items look to be completed soon.
The Downtown Indiana Streetscape Project was a multiple-phase project that was split up into four phases, and focused on rehabbing portions of Philadelphia Street, the IRMC Park area on Seventh Street, and other parts of Downtown Indiana. While most of the project is complete, Dave Fairman of Indiana Borough Public Works says that there are a few items that are on a final checklist to complete the project, including the sidewalk in front of Luxemburg’s.
Other items include the relocation of some parking meters, the re-staking of trees planted on the sidewalks that were not staked properly to begin with and other smaller “punch-list” items. Fairman said he would be in contact with M and B Contracting to finish these portions of the project.
Fairman also announced that crews will be ready to take on potholes on the borough streets, and they are asking the community to keep their eyes open for them. If you see one in Indiana Borough, call the Pothole Hotline at 724-465-6512 or email dfairman@indianaboro.com.
