Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that 38 senior centers across the state, including one in Indiana County, will receive state grant funding.
$2 million in grant funding will be distributed to these 38 senior centers. The funding comes from revenues from the Pennsylvania Lottery. The grants are designed to help senior center increase participation and provide programs that will attract a new generation of seniors to the centers and possibly use those centers.
Among the list of senior centers receiving funds is the Chestnut Hills Social Center in Blairsville. They received $11,625 in state grants. Meanwhile, the Latrobe Center for Active Adults in Westmoreland County received $76,717.
