An Indiana woman is now in County Jail charged with trying to hire someone to kill an Indiana County attorney.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Amber L. Plavi of Indiana faces charges of Solicitation to criminal homicide, solicitation to burglary and burglary in connection with a scheme that targeted Attorney Ryan Fritz. The investigation was carried out by Indiana Borough Police after the State Attorney General’s office tipped them off about the plot. The affidavit states that Plavi had relapsed on drugs and was smoking crack cocaine with Jonathan McLaurine and Cory Webb. When he was interviewed by police, McLaurine said that Plavi offered him a diamond necklace, diamond earrings and a black pistol to front for more crack cocaine, as she had been cut off from her phone and bank cards. McLaurine further stated that Plavi told him he could use the gun to kill Fritz in exchange for $80,000 that she would have received from his life insurance policy. Webb was also interviewed by police and said that Plavi and McLaurine would get into an argument and she left with the gun.
Right now, Plavi is in Indiana county jail in lieu of bail as solicitation to criminal homicide is a non-bailable offense. A preliminary hearing is slated for March 29th at District Judge Jennifer Rega’s Office.
