A man accused of sending sexually-explicit texts to two high school football players has resigned as a volunteer with the IUP football team. 23-year-old Ty Holler, who is listed as living in Latrobe, was arraigned last week on two counts each of illegal contact with minors/sexual abuse, using minors in obscene or sexual material, and corruption of minors.
As of last week, Holler was still enrolled as a student at IUP. His position as a volunteer assistant coach with the Mount Pleasant football team was terminated last summer when the investigation came to light, and he is barred from the school campus or school activities.
Holler is accused of sending two members of the Mount Pleasant football team photos of topless women he said were IUP students, and asking the two teens for pictures in return, saying the women wanted to be with them. The high school football players were ages 15 and 16 at the time of the incidents in 2014. Police are investigating whether or not the pictures sent to the two teens were actually of IUP students.
Holler is free on $25,000 bond has a preliminary hearing scheduled April 20th in Westmoreland County.
