A number of cases come before judges William Martin and Thomas Bianco in Indiana County Court today, including a plea court appearance before Judge Martin for a former Pittsburgh man in an abduction case from 2015.
29-year-old Michael J. Noble II, who is now listed as being from Charlotte, North Carolina, was admitted into the county’s ARD program last April with provisions for drug and alcohol abstention and notifications of change of address, but in December Indiana County District Attorney Pat Dougherty asked the court to rescind Noble’s ARD. Judge Martin granted the request and that reinstated the charges, which include unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, coercion to commit a crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of both a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia.
In July of 2015, Blairsville Borough police were summoned to an apartment on Reed Avenue for a female reportedly being held against her will. When police arrived, the victim escaped through a back door and Noble ran upstairs. He surrendered after about fifteen minutes and police found a .44 –caliber Glock handgun, heroin, and drug paraphernalia. The police affidavit alleges that Noble was selling heroin from the woman’s home while she was held captive.
