One of the three defendants in the murders of a Clymer couple in October will be transferred today to a new detention facility.
Indiana County Sheriff’s deputies will move 17-year-old Isaiah Scott from the Cambria County Prison to the Westmoreland County Regional Youth Services Center in Greensburg.
Scott is accused of participating in the beating deaths of Timothy Gardner and Jacquelyn Brink, who were beaten to death at their apartment outside of Clymer in Cherryhill Township. Nathan Price and Justin Stevenson, who were 18 and 19 years old, respectively, at the time of the killings, are accused of the actual beatings. Scott stood by and actually ran away from the scene, but still faces two counts of criminal homicide plus conspiracy to robbery. Indiana County District Attorney Pat Dougherty has said that he will seek the death penalty against Price and Stevenson, but Scott will not be subject to capital punishment because he was a minor at the time of the crime. Scott will turn 18 years old on March 23rd.
Both Stevenson and Price are being held at the Indiana County Jail.
