Indiana County did relatively well with the wind yesterday, at least compared to the rest of western Pennsylvania. There were some power outages, particularly in the Brush Valley area, and numerous reports of trees and wires down.
Pine Township firefighters were called for trees on utility wires along Route 403 in Pine Township; Marion Center was called for the same purpose to Leasure Run Road in North Mahoning Township. Commodore firefighters were dispatched for a tree on a utility pole along Cypress Road in Green Township, and Glen Campbell firefighters were called for a tree across the roadway on Rickardsdale Road in the borough.
Also yesterday, Blairsville firefighters fought a brush fire along Pleasant Valley Road in Burrell Township. Saltsburg and Tunnelton firefighters were summoned for debris on the road along Bush Road in Westmoreland County. Homer City was called for a pumping detail on Church Street, and the Armagh fire department was called to assist at a structure fire along Kuvinka Avenue outside of Seward.
