UPDATE:
50-year-old James Holley of Homer City pleaded guilty to Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in connection with an incident last August. A second charge of possession with intent, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver will not be prosecuted. State Police say they pulled over Holley for a traffic violation and found 29 bundles of heroin and four loose stamp bags. He was under the supervision of Indiana County Probation’s pre-trial services program prior to his plea this morning.
Those who were sentenced today included 32-year-old Ashley Weston of Creekside, who was sentenced to 1-2 years in state prison, one year probation, and ordered to pay restitution in three cases. One of the three cases was a case where she had faced a charge of possession with intent to deliver but that was not prosecuted. A fight erupted over drugs at an apartment in Indiana Borough, with one of the two in the argument accused of holding a knife against the throat of another and of throwing bleach in his face. When police arrived, they found cocaine and heroin where Weston was seated.
Also, 52-year-old Susan Hill of Indiana was sentenced to four years probation, $1000 in fines and was ordered to pay court costs and restitution in connection with guilty please for possession with intent to deliver in two separate cases. Hill sold suboxone to confidential police informants in August and again in November of 2015.
In Indiana County Court today, a number of defendants are scheduled for sentencing for a variety of offenses. Among the more serious cases:
- 50-year-old James Vernon Holley of Homer City, is due before Judge William Martin to answer heroin-related charges. Holley was pulled over for a traffic violation last August and state troopers found 29 bundles of heroin and four loose stamp bags. He was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, with one of the felonies later changed to conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver. After medical/mental health treatment, Holley in January was placed under the supervision of Indiana County Probation’s Pre-Trial Services program and must report to court this morning to answer the charges.
- 52-year-old Susan Joyce Hill of Indiana will be sentenced for guilty pleas to possession with intent to deliver for two separate cases. Hill sold suboxone to confidential police informants in August and again in November of 2015.
- Katherine Doubt of Indiana will be sentenced for possession with intent to deliver, for selling heroin to an undercover state trooper and an informant in August of 2014. Doubt’s son was in her car at the time. She also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to the same offense in a second case from November of 2015.
- In a sentencing continued from January, 32-year-old Ashley June Weston of Creekside will be sentenced for three cases, including a guilty plea for criminal use of a communication facility. That was a drug case in which charges of possession with intent to deliver will not be prosecuted.
