Many took advantage of the good weather yesterday to head out for exercise, for fun, or they did some outdoor chores, and because of some dry conditions, emergency crews were out too for brush fires.
Indiana County 911 reported two brush fires in the county on Thursday within an hour of each other. The first was reported at 12:17 PM, on Shoup Road in West Wheatfield Township. The Clyde and Armagh fire departments were dispatched to fight the fire. 41 minutes later, another brush fire was reported, this one on Purchase Line Road in Green Township. Commodore fire department was called out, and they reported the fire was in Golden Rod Field, and it spread quickly due to the windy conditions.
Emergency crews were also busy with wires and trees down as the snow started to fall. Rossiter fire department was called to Wright Road in Canoe Township around 11:27 PM Thursday for a report of wires down. And at 5:25 this morning, Creekside Fire Department was called out to Route 110 in Rayne Township for a report of a tree and wires down.
