Investigators say that circumstances surrounding a death “suspicious” after finding human remains in Derry Township.
The Westmoreland County Coroner and detectives were assisted in their investigation by the Mercyhurst University forensic anthropology team. They were investigating a wooded area near Strawcutter Road and Keystone State Park. The victim was not identified, nor were any further details on his death.
The coroner has stated that the death may have occurred elsewhere and the body may have been deposited in the field. Investigators finished their work by mid-afternoon on Friday.
