Indiana County emergency crews were busy Saturday with a number of accidents and three reported fires.
One fire was reported at 5:50 in the morning as a Jeep caught fire near the North East Locators car dealership. The fire started in the engine compartment of the Jeep. Indiana Fire Association members were able to extinguish the flames quickly, but PennDOT was also called in to help afterwards, as the water used to fight the fire froze on the road quickly. No injuries were reported
The other fire was reported on South 5th Street in Indiana Borough. Crews say the chimney caught fire in the –three story home, and had to use the ladder truck to fight the fire. No injuries were reported and crews from Indiana and Homer City were on the scene for over 40 minutes.
Creekside firefighters were called out for a propane tank fire on Kunkle Road in Washington Township.
Police reports are not yet available for a number of accidents, including wrecks on Route 119 in North Mahoning Township, on Rustic Lodge Road in White Township, on Route 422 West in Armstrong Township, and on Spaulding Road in Cherryhill Township.
