BRUSH VALLEY TOWNSHIP
State police have issued a report on the Friday morning accident that closed Route 56 in Brush Valley Township for several hours. 40-year-old Joshua McGarvey of Madera, PA lost control of a dump truck he was driving around an uphill left-hand curve, sliding on about two inches of slush into a utility pole, shearing off the pole and bringing down wires on top of the truck. McGarvey was not injured.
NORTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP
The driver escaped injury Saturday evening in a crash on Route 119 in North Mahoning Township. State police say 27-year-old Brianne McConnaughey was driving too fast for the conditions when her car struck a snow drift and ice, sliding into an embankment and flipping onto its roof.
DUI ENFORCEMENT ANNOUNCED
When St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday, one can expect some extra effort by law enforcement to keep people safe.
State police will be performing sobriety checkpoints at undisclosed locations in Indiana County during the upcoming weekend, and roving mobile enforcement details will be in effect throughout the month.
