The Indiana Area School Board will meet tonight and there are several teaching jobs that may be eliminated or reduced tonight.
On the agenda is the elimination of a junior high English, junior high Math and senior high English position due to attrition. The board will also look at reducing a Junior High Family and Consumer Science position to part-time via attrition, and increasing a part-time FCS teacher to full time. The board will also look for authorization to post for a junior high Health/Phys Ed teacher, a junior high tech education position, and a senior high physics position. On the elementary side, the board will look to add seven elementary teachers and eliminate one position due to class size guidelines, advertise for a reading specialist and eliminate a math coach and a reading coach.
Also on the agenda, the board will look to approve making the traffic study results for the Ben Franklin Elementary School project public, and requesting a waiver of the 20-year rule for East Pike Elementary for PlanCon reimbursement.
