While it was announced earlier this month that one of the Indiana Mall’s anchor stores would remain open, two long-time tenants are looking to close their doors.
Both RadioShack and FYE music in the Indiana Mall have started clearance sales in advance of their eventual closures. RadioShack has been a longtime tenant in the mall since it opened in 1979. FYE has also been a long-running tenant, but under different names. Sherri Renosky of the Indiana Mall said that the store was originally known as National Record Mart before it became The Wall and finally FYE.
There’s no word yet on when either store will close, but Renosky said the Indiana Mall’s parent company, Zamias Services, is working on filling those future vacancies.
The closure of RadioShack is due to the company’s recent declaration of bankruptcy. FYE is closing several of its stores nation-wide, but no information is available on why the stores are closing.
