John V. Fisher, 92, of Dixonville, PA died on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
The son of Albert and Martha (Kessler) Fisher, he was born on September 19, 1924 in Deckers Point, PA.
John was a member of the Graystone Evangelical Church in Indiana, PA.
He was the founder and owner of Fisher Furniture. John was very proud of the growth of the business that he established with his father as a small appliance store in Dixonville in 1945. John was extremely proud of his family’s participation in the business.
His primary interest was spending time with his family. John’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy to him.
He married Margaret (Betsa) Fisher on June 18, 1949.
John is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Margaret, of Dixonville, PA; his children: Colleen (Francis) Super; Kenneth (Debra) Fisher; Karen Fisher and Kevin (Vicky) Fisher; his five grandchildren: Maria (Scott) Britton; Kristen (Rodney) Pegg; Tracy (Dana) Fisher-Neely; Jamie (Zebulon) Fultz and Ian (Kristen) Fisher; his great-grandchildren: Madison Britton; Bailee Britton; Macey Pegg; Vienna Fultz, Troy Fultz, John Fisher-Neely and a “great grandson to be” expected in November.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family funeral service was officiated by Rev. Richard E. Hurley with entombment at the Oakland Cemetery mausoleum in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
