Indiana County Pools are either open now or they’re getting ready for their opening day, but the weather that has rolled through the area has not paid them many favors.
Today is the traditional opening day for the Homer City Community Pool, and it will be open from noon to 6 PM, and Robert Nymick, one of the Pool’s partners, said that it’s an early start.

Mack Park Pool, which is run by the YMCA of Indiana County, opened for the weekend before Memorial Day and so far attendance has been adequate, but YMCA CEO Eric Neal said that they like to have people thinking about swimming at their pool a few weeks before the season starts, and this year, it hasn’t happened yet.

Mack Pool has been open for limited hours over the weekend before Memorial Day and for the last few days, they’ve been open late afternoons and evenings, with full day openings on the weekend. They will revert to their normal schedule on June 5th, the last day of school for the Indiana School District.
