Solar power will be the topic of a statewide conference coming to Indiana County this weekend.
The Nonprofit group Solar United Neighbors will host their Pennsylvania Solar Congress on Saturday in Blairsville. The conference is expected to attract supporters and advocates of solar power along with solar owners from across the state to the county for the one-day conference at the Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort and Conference Center.
Presentations will include a state of solar power in Pennsylvania, the basics of solar power, electric cars, and local government leadership in solar.
In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, County Commissioner Sherene Hess will be a part of the local government leadership in solar presentation and she talks about what that portion of the conference will focus on.
The 2019 solar co-op in Indiana County was formed, and Solar United Neighbors say that it is the most successful solar co-op in the state, with the total number of solar installations in the county going up by 70%.
The conference is free and open to the public, and will start at 9:30. You can register for the event online by clicking here.
