Another Indiana County Bank has joined the PA CARE Package program.
In an announcement from Attorney General Josh Shapiro, InFirst Bank agreed to join the consumer relief initiative. The PA CARE Package program has banks working with the Attorney General’s office to comply with the recently passed CARES act and offer additional protections for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This includes expansion of small and medium business loan availability; a 90-day grace period for mortgages not already covered by the CARES act 180-day grace period; a 90-day grace period for consumer loans like auto loans; a 90-day window for relief from fees and charges, like late fees and overdraft fees; a 60-day moratorium on foreclosure, eviction or motor vehicle repossession and no adverse credit reporting for accessing relief on consumer loans.
InFirst Bank President and CEO Tim Kronenwetter said they were happy to join the program, saying the program wasn’t just necessary, but he felt it was “the right thing to do.”
