State police report a couple of theft incidents involving the White Township Walmart store.
The first of them happened on April 16th. Police say 27-year-old Matthew Wiles of Chicora walked past the point of sale and attempted to leave the store with a shopping cart full of items, including a 32-inch Phillips flat-screen TV valued at $128. He’s charged with retail theft.
The other incident happened on April 19th. Police say 27-year-old Clifford Bernard Camut of Bolivar also attempted to walk past the point of sale with a shopping cart full of items, notably several KitchenAid products. The total value of the items is more than $397. Camut was stopped by Walmart security personnel and fled on foot. He was later located in the Canterbury Commons area and apprehended after he again tried to flee. He is charged with retail theft, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct and was ordered jailed by District Judge Bob Bell, with bond set at $2,500.
