The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed another event, as the 2020 Jimmy Stewart Airshow has been canceled. It had been scheduled for June 6th and 7th, and while this year’s event is not going to happen, next year’s airshow dates have been announced, and there will be a big change. Rather than the traditional early June dates, next year’s show will be July 10th and 11th.
If you already have your tickets for the 2020 show, you can get a refund by calling 463-3883, but you can also hold onto them and use them for the 2021 event.
The loss of this year’s show is a big blow…with there being no Westmoreland County airshow planned this year, organizers of the Jimmy Stewart Airshow were anticipating a big increase in attendance, and had booked Mike Goulian Aerosports as the featured attraction. Goulian is a past winner of the United States Unlimited Aerobatic Championship and a world-renowned international aerobatic pilot.
The decision to cancel this year’s Jimmy Stewart Airshow was made at the direction of the Indiana County Airport Authority, the county commissioners, and health authorities.
