The Marion Center School Board will meet tonight, virtually, and will vote on a motion to hold a voluntary outdoor graduation for its 95 seniors at the Dr. John R. Mallino Stadium, or at the stadium parking lot. The district would also make the ceremony available electronically.
The board will also vote on a tentative budget of $26,375,220. It would include a real estate tax increase of .4157 mills, to 11.9361.
Other agenda items include the annual agreement with Citizens Ambulance Service and with Dr. J. Lindsay Parks for athletic physicals. The board will hear a second reading of a number of policies and will consider a motion to have Superintendent Clint Weimer evaluate course offerings and district-wide programs to determine their effectiveness.
Indiana Area’s Building and Grounds Committee will meet electronically tonight as well, and will consider a change order at the East Pike Entranceway Project, extending the completion date from August 6th to the 28th, at no additional cost.
The board may also discuss other items, including purchasing more masks, the possibility of purchasing properties on Knox Street, an estimate on the East Pike Elementary roof, discussion with the district’s HVAC contractors, and a potential meeting with the new architects, as well as a follow-up discussion on the condition on the playground equipment at the district’s schools.
