State police say they have identified the suspect in the theft of the contents from a woman’s purse on May 5th at the White Township Walmart store, thanks to the public response to media coverage that included surveillance images.
A woman found the purse in a shopping cart, took it into the restroom, and stole $300 cash from it, leaving it behind as she left the store and fled in a dark gray Cadillac sedan. The surveillance video showed the suspect, who appeared to have purple or blue dyed hair, and the car in which she left, which did not have a license plate but appeared to have a temporary placard of some sort in the lower right corner of the rear window.
Police have not announced an arrest and say the investigation is ongoing.
