
IUP sophomore swimmer Paige Mikesell has been named to the 2020 Academic All-America Division II Women’s At-Large team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She earned third team honors and is one of 50 total selections to the Women’s At-Large team.
Mikesell earned three All-American nods in the pool this year and boasts a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average in health & physical education.
She ranked second in Division II in the 200 yard butterfly with an IUP record time of 1:59.22, earning first team All-American honors in that event.
Mikesell also was named All-American in the 200 freestyle, where she was ranked fifth in Division II, and in the 100 fly, where she was ranked sixth. She was also the 11ith-ranked Division II swimmer in the 200 individual medley.
She was the first sophomore to ever win the IUP Women’s Athlete of the Year, while also adding Postseason Performer, Breakthrough Athlete, and the Performance of the Year awards. She is IUP’s 51st CoSIDA Academic All-American.
