Indiana Regional Medical Center and MedExpress are teaming up to coordinate care between the MedExpress Neighborhood medical center on Oakland Avenue and the services provided by IRMC.
The center on Oakland Avenue will be jointly owned, and will enable MedExpress patients to seek more specialized or advanced health care services at IRMC, if needed. It will also allow MedExpress to serve as an extension of the services available at IRMC by offering a broad scope of walk-in urgent-care, virtual visits, and employer health services and basic wellness and prevention services.
IRMC President and CEO Steve Wolfe said that this will benefit patients with a “more seamless continuum of care between IRMC and MedExpress, from beginning to end.”
To facilitate this, the IRMC UrgiCare location on the hospital’s main campus will close and effective July 15th, patients will be able to locally access care at MedExpress. The UrgiCare facility at IRMC at Chestnut Ridge will remain open to serve the Blairsville community.
