IUP has announced 30 new positive Covid-19 positive tests have been reported in the campus community between September 8th and 10th.
According to an announcement sent Friday to the IUP community, the notification came from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Two of the students identified as Covid-19 Positive live in on-campus housing, 24 live in off-campus housing and four reside outside of Indiana County. The 30 new positive tests brings the number of cases of Covid-19 at IUP is 53, and IUP also reports that 16 positive cases of Covid-19 have recovered.
Right now, two students are utilizing the self-isolation beds set aside on campus. IUP still has 168 self-isolation beds on campus available. The others are self-isolating away from campus and following required response protocol.
The PA Department of Health is performing contact tracing, and anyone who has had close contact with those individuals will be contacted and advised on appropriate response protocol.
