An Indiana man was arrested and jailed in Armstrong County Wednesday night after a brawl at a North Apollo bar.
42-year-old Ian Russell Lamison is charged with two counts each of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and disorderly conduct, plus a single misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person, and related summary offenses. The aggravated assault charges cite the use of a deadly weapon and attempt to cause significant bodily injury with extreme indifference.
Lamison told Kiski Township police he was defending his girlfriend from verbal attacks when he was assaulted by three unknown assailants. He said he was punched in the face and knocked to the floor, and as he fought back, he had a beer bottle in his hand but didn’t recall using it. Witnesses said he hit 21-year-old Cameron Helm of North Apollo in the side of the head with the bottle and punched him multiple times in the head and face. Helm’s was bleeding from his head and ear when police arrived, and had cuts and scrapes on his arms and chest.
Lamison’s girlfriend was pushed and punched in the face by another woman who witnesses identified as 29-year-old Krystle Marie Miller of Kiski Township.
Helm and Miller are both charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.
Lamison is in the Armstrong County Jail, with bond set at $25,000. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled October 14th in Leechburg.
