Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that the county’s Drug Task Force apprehended a Homer City man in a drug bust that happened on Tuesday.
Members of the drug task force took 30-year-old Kyle Rider of Homer City into custody and were able to seize two bricks of heroin with suspected fentanyl, 27 doses of LSD, two grams of crystal methamphetamine and five marijuana plants. Also taken in the drug raid were four rifles, a zip gun and more than $4,500. The drug task force is working to have the forfeited money turned over to them so they can use it to fund future drug task force operations.
Rider is charged with felony manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. The charges date back to February 12th of this year, when the investigation started. He is now in Indiana County Jail after he failed to post $25,000 bail. Rider does have a criminal record in Indiana County, including a case of drug paraphernalia possession from August of 2017, a summary criminal mischief-property damage charge that happened the following month, and two DUI cases, one in 2017 and one in 2020.
A preliminary hearing is set for November 10th in front of District Judge Susanne Steffee.
