State police are investigating the theft of several chainsaws from a business in Burrell Township that was reported on December 19th. Troopers say that $8,000 worth of chainsaws were ordered from Debnar’s Pools, Spas and Lawn on Route 22 in Burrell Township, and were sent to a location in Baltimore, Maryland before the fraud was discovered. Officials at Debnar’s believed that the person making the order was one of their regular customers. Six chainsaws were reported stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
State police say an Indiana woman was the victim of identity theft earlier this month. Troopers say that an unknown person or persons tried to use the identity information of a 44-year-old Indiana woman to purchase $535 worth of items online from Walmart on December 11th. The woman was notified by fraud protection services and the attempted theft was unsuccessful.
State police have charged a Clymer woman with trying to steal Christmas decorations from Walmart on the day before Christmas. Police say the theft happened at 5:50 PM at the Walmart on Oakland Avenue in White Township. A 32-year-old Clymer woman allegedly took over $235 worth of décor. Charges were filed through District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.
