UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Indiana Criminal Investigation Unit reported at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon that it is currently investigating a disturbance in Homer City Borough involving a possible shooting.
The incident took place at an apartment within the 00 block of N. Main Street. At the time of the release, authorities said they did not have any reason to believe there is a threat to the community.
At approximately 12:36 p.m., the Homer City Police Department was dispatched to investigate a report of shots fired at the address and an investigation ensued with assistance from responding law enforcement agencies, and State Police were asked to assume the investigation.
Troopers are currently conducting interviews and no charges have been filed.
As a precaution, Homer-Center School District was placed on lockdown for approximately one hour while law enforcement agencies responded, investigated, and confirmed that there was no known threat to the community.
The Indiana County Sheriff’s Office and the Blairsville Police Department were also involved in the investigation, which is ongoing, and State Police said additional information will be released as appropriate.
UPDATE: Authorities have reopened the Main Street area of Homer City Borough as of 2 p.m. The lockdown of the Homer-Center schools has been lifted. All students are to be dismissed at the regular times.
The State Police confirmed that the initial report was of a shooting, but authorities have been unable to confirm if there was a shooting or not. The investigation is ongoing.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: A shooting investigation going on now in Homer City Borough has triggered a lockdown of Homer-Center School District.
State Police are saying at this time that they are investigating a possible shooting in the area of Main Street and Church Street in Homer City Borough. Officials with the Homer-Center School District were asked to go into lockdown as a precaution. Right now, state troopers are being assisted by Homer City and Blairsville police along with Indiana County Sheriffs.

Police are asking people to avoid the intersection of Main and Church Streets in Homer City borough as the investigation continues.
