
On Thursday night, the Penns Manor School Board approved a new board member to take the place of Robert Packer, who resigned last month.
By a unanimous vote, Lisa Smiley was appointed to represent Region 1-Clymer. Board president John Hardesty said that Smiley will be provided with everything she will need to be a part of the school board.
Audio PlayerHer term will run until December 6th, the first Monday in December after the next school board election.
The board also formally elected Jill Eckenrode as the new board Vice President and accepted her resignation as the board treasurer. The board also appointed Deborah Tate to take over the treasurer duties.
In other business, the board approved a resolution calling for charter school legislation reform. Hardesty talked about how much of a financial impact paying for charter school has made on the district.
Audio PlayerThe board also approved the ICTC 2021-22 budget. The district’s share of the budget is $396,697 before any vocation subsidy.
