The Indiana County Drug Task Force and District Attorney Bob Manzi announced an arrest connected to one of the largest heroin and fentanyl busts in Indiana County history.
The task force announced the arrest of 34-year-old Allan Burnheimer of Black Lick connected with the drug bust. On April 8th, police stopped a vehicle on Route 22 near Blairsville and discovered 50 bricks or 2,500 stamp bags of a mixture of heroin and fentanyl worth about $25,000. When police searched Burnheimer’s property, they found $70,000 in cash hidden in the home. Burnheimer also admitted that he purchased the home using drug money.
Manzi said that special county detectives from the sheriff’s office, and police from Indiana and Homer City Boroughs were a part of the task force’s investigation, and the task force worked in cooperation with the state police troop A community enforcement team. Manzi credited the teamwork of these agencies in the bust’s success.
Burnheimer faces a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of controlled substance. A preliminary hearing on this case is set for April 15th. Burnheimer is also awaiting a preliminary hearing on May 12th for another charge of possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia for a case on June 23rd, 2020.
